The Border Post is found at the top of Oliviershoek Pass overlooking the Northern Drakensberg while nestled against the Sterkfontein Dam.

We serve straightforward food with an emphasis on simple artistry.

Found on the farm “Windmill” the Old house was built in 1936 and over the years was restored to its original rustic splendour and run as a bed & breakfast. The house hosts 7 en-suite rooms, stylishly and comfortably and is surrounded by lush gardens and an exquisite view down towards the Bergville countryside and over the Natal farmlands.

Inn Keepers Paul & Marisa Ellis acquired The Border Post in 2023 and are skilfully supported in this endeavour by incredibly capable staff dedicated to continuing the hospitality tradition.
